Friends don't understand. Family is exhausting. So alone.

Friends try but they don't really get it. Family is its own complication. Has anyone found people who actually understood?

DivorceCare groups (free, faith-affiliated but not pushy) and the secular community group at my library both helped. Sitting in a room with other people going through the same thing was different from describing it to people who weren't.

Reddit's r/Divorce was a lifeline at 2am. Just reading other people's posts that matched what I was feeling made me feel less crazy.

This forum. The threads I've found here — strangers describing exactly what I was sitting with — got me through more nights than I want to admit.
