An unbundled attorney. $150 for one hour every 4-6 weeks to review where I was, answer specific questions, and tell me what to file next. Cheaper than full representation, more useful than self-help on its own.
211. Sounds boring but that one phone number routed me to rental aid, food, mental health, and childcare subsidies — all in a 20-minute call. I had no idea most of those programs existed.
DivorceCare support group. Free. Weekly. Other people going through it. I needed strangers more than friends in those months.
Honestly this forum. Reading other people's threads at 2am made me feel less alone. The lawyers answering for free is something I didn't know existed before Lawma.
My therapist. The legal part has procedures and forms. The emotional part has none of that. The therapist held the emotional part so I could focus on the procedural part.
