Best government and community aid programs for single parents during a divorce?

I am the lower-earning parent, custody is still being worked out, and the gap month is tight. What programs actually paid off the effort to apply?

CalFresh (SNAP), WIC if you have a child under 5, and your county's Family Resource Center for one-time emergency aid. The county center connected me to childcare subsidies I had no idea existed.
