How did you negotiate the summer schedule?

School year schedule is settled but summer is unclear. Anyone have a structure that works?

Mediator's tip: put the vacation-week pick deadline in the order itself (e.g., 'first pick alternates yearly, mother picks first in even years, deadline April 15'). Vague summer language is the #1 reason families end up back in mediation in June.

We do alternating weeks all summer. Each parent gets two consecutive 'vacation weeks' that the other can't touch — pick those by April 1.

We kept the regular schedule but each parent gets one 10-day uninterrupted block. Calmer than swapping the whole structure.
