Fired Monday with no warning. 5 years there, no write-ups. Anything I can do?

Employment-law attorney here. 'Wrongful termination' is narrower than people think — most US states (including CA and GA) are at-will, meaning employers can fire for any reason or no reason, except prohibited reasons. The prohibited reasons that can support a claim: discrimination (race, sex, age 40+, disability, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, pregnancy), retaliation for protected activity (complaint of harassment, requested accommodation, took FMLA, reported wage theft), violation of a written contract or implied contract policy. If any of those fits, you may have a case. Documents to gather: offer letter, handbook, last few performance reviews, any complaints you made, witnesses. Most plaintiff employment lawyers offer free initial consults and work on contingency. File for unemployment regardless. Not advice for your specific case.
