Should I record him during arguments

He says things in person he'd never put in writing. Single party consent state. Should I record? Will the court accept it?

California is two-party consent for confidential conversations. Recording without his knowledge can backfire and isn't usually admissible. Stick to texts and emails — those work and are clean.
