We were married 9 years. He had a 401k before we got married and kept contributing. Is all of it ours or just the part he added during the marriage? I keep reading different things.
From what my lawyer told me, only the part contributed during the marriage is community. The pre-marital portion stays his. There's a calculation for the growth that gets tricky though.
