Can I move out of the house before the divorce is final

Living here is killing me. But everyone says don't leave the house before the divorce. Is that real or old advice?

I left for my own safety after six months of being told not to. It didn't hurt my case. The old advice is more about not abandoning kids or community property, not about your physical safety. Talk to someone before you decide.
